Importance of Increasing the Vocabulary For a Fiction Author
Authors usually have vocabulary that they use on a regular basis. You can learn other vocabulary so that you have many words you can choose from when writing. To make the writing more appealing, a fiction writer should use verbs, nouns, modifiers and adjectives when writing. What makes up good writing is how well you put the words together and how the words themselves are. It is easy to get into a novel that is engaging when you read it. After reading and enjoying the novel, reread it again. Examining how the work is written is the goal. How the plot and characters were developed as well as the technical aspects such as grammar are some of the things you should be mindful of. You will be amazed about the words you already use, the ones you didn’t know about and those you never thought of using. The words or phrases that your characters might occasionally use should be kept. Use a phrase like ‘her eyes surveyed the room ‘ when describing the action of the eye.
You will be able to describe vividly what is going on internally and externally regarding your characters if you take notes of such words and phrases. Such a list will help you rephrase your words and write authentic and creative vocabulary. Use this list when making your draft.
