Picking the Correct Paint for Your Home-Based Office

You have all heard the phrase “location is everything”. This is so true when choosing the location for your home-based office. We determined that whatever the space you will choose it should be away from high traffic areas and if possible have a window that would allow some natural light. The next step in the process of setting up your home-based office is to determine what color and finish of paint would work best in your new office space. A high gloss finish adds energy to the space while a flat finish is more soothing.

A fresh coat of paint is a great way to make a positive upgrade to the home-based office space. Psychologists do tell us that color has a direct impact on mood and that our mood has a direct impact on our energy. Our energy of course will have an impact on productivity and job performance. Additionally, no matter how much time we are spending in our home-based office we must feel comfortable there. We might not have thought that making the right color and paint finish choices could affect the success or failure of your home-based business but it certainly can. Color has a different effect on everyone. Purple is a favorite color of mine so for example, I would like to incorporate different shades of purple into my office design. I would do this with the use of paint or another way is to use accent walls or accessories such as throws or pillows. Even a piece of furniture could add an accent color.

Other things to take into consideration when choosing a paint color and finish is the size of the home-based office, the furnishings, how much time you will be spending in your office and what time of the day you will be working in the home-based office. I would recommend that If your office space is small choose a color that will make it appear larger. It is suggested that you never paint a small space a dark color. If you find yourself working in a large space you can add an accent wall to help make the space feel a bit smaller. Also consider the color of your furnishings when picking a paint color. Dark woods would match better with warm colors and the light woods with variations of pastels. So when you have decided on your paint color this is the time to head over to the paint store and get some samples. Put your samples up on the walls and look at them at different times of the day so you can determine, based on what time of day you would be working in the office, that this is absolutely the correct paint choice.

Another critical item is the type of paint that you choose especially if you are going to be spending 8 hours a day in the home-based office. You want to pick a paint that will not be emitting noxious substances that could make you ill. Choosing paints that are no-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) is critical for home office health. Make the paint color you choose something a little different from the rest of the home. It is important that you can easily transition from the home to the work environment and vice versa.

What it really boils down to is only you will be able to determine the color(s) and finish for your home-based office. So, take that next step and choose your paint and paint finish and get to work creating your individualized home-based office environment.

WoW Daily Blues – Level 80 and End Game

So you've just reached 80, you're covered in blue gear, and you do not know what to do next? Join the party … "How to deal with WoW at level 80" sounds a bit preposterous, does not it? But just think, so many times you'll hear, "the game STARTS at level 80!", Or "I can not wait to get through the grind to 80". Its like there's a magic light at the end of the tunnel … but there is not, really. Which is exactly why I wanted to write this article … Lots of people expect that when they hit level 80, everything will "fall into place", they'll become all powerful, and birds will start to sing their names … In reality, many players are confused and shocked to find that once they reach level 80 they have to deal with some unexpected issues, such as:

    1. Gearscore. Blizzard hates it, I hate it, you'll learn to hate it … Gear score is a mod which considers how good a persons gear is so that raid and dungeon leaders can work out if they want you or not. Its sorta like high school all over again. If you are not in the coolest, "baddest" monster bashing gear, then you're not allowed. This causes players to ask, if I have not got the gear to do this dungeon, how do I get better gear? Much like job applicants who need experience to get a job, new level 80's need gear to do dungeons, but can not do the dungeons until their gear is good enough! This is not 100% accurate however, and I'll talk about this in just a moment.

    2. New 80's do not know what to do now. You've just spent 2 or 3 months (or more) leveling a guy to 80 … all you know what to do revolves around leveling … and now there's no more levels to get. More of the "what do I do now" syndrome kicks in.

    3. A whole new "hidden" set of levels need to be gained. New levels? What levels, you ask …? I'm talking again about gear. If you like PvP, or if you like dungeons, you'll come to realize that you need to "level up" your gear to take part in the best parts of the game.

This is more true for players who want to do PvP at 80. You no longer have battlegrounds limited to level 50-60, and instead you're facing off against players in gear that might have taken them YEARS to put together. Its like fighting a level 60 when you're only 30. So how do new level 80's tackle these challenges?

Lets look at a few options.

First, find a good guild if you have not already. Start becoming familiar with guild names of players you see a lot walking around Dalaran, and ensure that you take note. Maybe you get in a group with a guild member who you like. Ask them about their guild, and when you find a good one, join up first and ask questions later! You can always leave & get a new guild if you find you're not learning or doing dungeons … Which brings me to my next point – join guilds that serve your goals. Do you want to get to end game raids? Join a good raiding guild who intentally take lower geared members into higher level dungeons exlicitly to get them better gear! Want to join arena teams? Join a PvP guild!

The next thing you want to do is familiarize yourself with what are called "dailies". Go to Violet Hold, and pick up a daily heroic, and a daily dungeon quest from the two quest givers, and do both each and every day if you can.

    This will do two things:

    1. Get you gold and gear upgrades
    2. Get you marks of triumph and marks of contract / stonekeeper's shards.

Each of these marks can be turned into fact vendors inside your faction's building in Dalaran. Get familiar with those rewards, and be sure to set goals for what items you want to buy as you accumulate marks. This will give you purpose and drive to get out there and complete those daily dungeons as often as possible. These two steps – doing dailies and getting better gear will be your first most important steps once you reach level 80. While you accomplish those steps you'll meet new players, new guilds, and learn a ton of different things about how to function as a new level 80 player.

    Best of luck!

Should You Hire a Party Planner for Your Child’s Birthday Party?

A party is always something special to do for your child for his/ her birthday. Everyone, adults including, love the joy of birthday party celebrations with the balloons, cake, presents and gathering of friends and family.

However, when it comes to throwing a birthday party, the question on many parents’ minds is: “Do I organize it myself or do I hire a birthday party planner?”

The convenient option is to hire a ‘one-stop party planner’ who will handle everything. This is a tempting thought, especially if you are busy at work and have a million other things to handle. The party planner’s job is to be responsible for the party from beginning to end, which generally lasts between 2 to 3 hours. With their experience and network of party support providers, these planners could easily book the busy parent the perfect venue complete with decorations and a cake, order food from the best caterers, and get a clown or a magician to come entertain your child and their friends. Of course, one can expect to pay a premium for quality, convenience, time and expertise.

Cost aside, there is a tradeoff, however. While you do have the final decision-making power, your choices of venues, caterers, places to get party decorations and gifts are generally confined to the party planners’ contacts. Naturally, due to personal and commercial reasons, their inclinations are to stick with people and venues they are already familiar with or have a business relationship with. This may prove to be limiting and frustrating, especially if preferences are dissimilar.

In addition, your child’s birthday party is a personal project and it is difficult for a third party to meet the expectations or vision that you might have. Miscommunication or misunderstandings may result in the planner’s delivery falling short of what you have envisioned.

The other option is not to hire a one-stop party planner but organize the party yourself. This is not as difficult as it sounds. The first step is to find all the information you can on organizing a birthday party from the Internet. Next, look for a good birthday party entertainer.

An experienced party entertainer will provide a great party entertainment package usually for about 30min – 45min long. A good entertainer can also package in games, balloon animals and host the cake cutting for an even longer duration. However, besides providing entertainment, the entertainer is also a valuable source of information and knowledge… for free!

If the party entertainer is an experienced one of high standards, he/ she would have a wealth of knowledge and contacts. The entertainer will be able to provide suggestions on venues, caters and bakeries. While you will ultimately have to make all the arrangements yourself, this insight from the party entertainer will definitely help you start off on the right foot with the eventual freedom of choice of vendors. So technically, you are getting almost the same professional expertise and advice that party planners may provide, at no additional cost.

Another positive point of just hiring a birthday party entertainer is that you are in direct contact with the party entertainer; you will be able to effectively communicate your child’s preferences and likes. This will ensure he/ she can customize the entertainment package accordingly.

Naturally, organizing the party yourself will take up your time and effort. However, your child’s party should be seen as a personal project and also a chance to bond with your child by involving him/ her in the party decision-making. The usual discussion between just parents can be transformed into a bonding session between the child and parents. And with your child’s inputs, not only do you empower him/ her but you will also be on your way to throw your child the perfect birthday party!

Vincent Van Gogh – How Little We Really Know

We all know about his wonderful paintings, but how much do we know about the man himself? It is fascinating to find out how little we actually know and since he died in 1890 certain things will always remain the subject of speculation.

The first point of interest is nobody knows for sure if Vincent was a right or a left handed artist. In all the correspondence between him and his closest friend Gauguin this is never mentioned. The main school of thought from dutch schools upholders that he was right handed. This is due because in one of his most famous self portraits he is clearly shown holding the palette with his left hand, but if we accept he painted the portrait using a mirror then he would have been holding the palette with his right hand, therefore he would have held the brushes and painted with his left hand.

Many people, however, argued that as an artist he would have easily been able to reverse the hand holding the palette to give an accurate idea of which hand he used to paint, as an artist myself I would always show myself as left handed because that is what I actually am. One more point of complexity. Although there have been many left handed artists, Michaelangelo and Leonardo to name just two. At the time of Van Gogh's life, left handedness was associated with the devil. Being left handed was highly discouraged. The French for left is "sinistre" and the French for clumsy is "maladriot" or literally bad at right. To paint using the left hand would be something to be practiced as discretely as possible.

The second point of discussion is his famously, partly severed ear. The standard line of thought is that he cut off part of his own ear and then presented it to a prostitute he had fallen in love with. A more modern theory says that actually Gauguin cut off Van Gogh's ear in an argument which had gotten out of hand. It may be that they shared a love for the same woman. It is known, however, that Gauguin was an expert with a sword, and that he was a burly man who would not have been afraid to wield it. It is also recorded that Van Gogh's brother, Theo, once wrote, "It is as well that Gauguin was not armed with a more modern weapon". Was Theo referring to this argument and just being grateful that Vincent had escaped with his life. Did the pair decide to cover up the truth. Gauguin continued to write to Van Gogh in very fond terms, right up until his unfortunate death. If they argued then this is never mentioned in Gauguin's letters.

Again this will probably remain an unsolved mystery. How strange that we know his paintings so well and yet so little is known about the man.

    World of Warcraft Add-On Facts

There are many, many add-ons for World of Warcraft, numbering in the thousands. A lot of players are not really aware of how the game can be made better through the add-ons. These little additions to the game can show map coordinates, damage levels and many other things that enhance the game experience.

Since there are so many add-ons to choose from, start by considering just what parts of World of Warcraft could stand a bit of enhancement. Those who need to find the best paths to take for quests have add-ons that serve that need. There are add-ons that allow the viewing of maps outside a battleground zone. In fact, there are add-ons that let players play checkers, Tetris and chess with other guild members. Find out which needs an add-on will fill before downloading them, and try to keep the number low, since too many add-ons will consume memory resources in the computer and slow down World of Warcraft.

Once the decision regarding which add-ons to use has been made, they can be downloaded from a number of different sites:

o One of the more popular World of Warcraft add-on sites is Curse Gaming. This site has lists of add-ons, each with a description of what it does, so players know just what they are downloading. Curse Gaming also features a current list of the five most downloaded add-ons in their add-on section at WoW.Curse.com.

o It is a good idea to get add-ons that have been approved by Blizzard itself. World of Warcraft's official site at WoW.com has a list of add-ons for the Auction House, guild banks, map coordinates and other useful features. Add-ons downloaded through the official World of Warcraft site are approved, meaning there's no chance of them resulting in an account being banned.

o WorldOfWar.net is another site that has a good selection of add-ons. They work hard to keep their selection up to date, even to the point of making sure they will operate with the latest patches. WorldOfWar.net provides a summary of the improvements each add-on will provide. This site even lists instructions on the installation, set-up and use of the add-on after it has been downloaded.

There are a number of add-ons available that do not have Blizzard's approval. Most of these are considered cheating by the staff at Blizzard. The sites that supply these will usually carry a warning that their add-ons are not approved before the add-on is downloaded. It is best to avoid downloading unapproved add-ons, because many of them could result in the player's World of Warcraft account being banned.

A virus scanner is essential for anyone downloading add-ons. Viruses inside an add-on may allow hackers access to World of Warcraft account information, which will result in the account getting locked. It is always a good idea to be careful when downloading.

Remember the first step is to decide what kinds of add-ons are needed before the first download. Also, keep in mind that these add-ons take up memory, which means too many of them will slow down the game. Always download Blizzard-approved add-ons, to avoid account banning, and always check every download with a virus checker to avoid being a victim of hackers.

What Is Junk Art and Trash Art?

Junk art and trash art are interchangeable terms. This is a sub-genre of found art, where a piece of art is created from pieces that have previously been discarded as trash or junk. There are many national organizations that offer junk art competitions as a way of making the public more aware of the things they discard, that will sit in a landfill. Not only is junk art and trash art a way of creating awareness, but also helps those who are going 'green' to erase some of their carbon footprint by reusing objects.

One artist in particular is known for her junk art or trash art, named Nadia Iliffe. Nadia creates found or recycled art pieces such as one entitled Websolated. This piece is said to illustrate the way a person feels when their mate turns to the Internet and computers in general. This piece was made from computer parts and metals, all of which could have been considered junk art or trash art due to the fact that they were discarded or no longer being used prior to their use in this piece.

Another great artist named Lane Patterson creates junk art from reclaimed or recycled pieces to create meaningful and unique pieces of art. One piece called Dragonfly, offers a sculpture from plumbing and electrical parts as well as resin grapes from long ago with other vintage objects incorporated. He offers many pieces that are all created from reclaimed or recycled pieces to create junk art that gives the viewer an idea of exactly what he created when he created each piece.

Mark Langan is another of many junk artists that offer reclaimed materials to create beautiful pieces of expression. One particular piece is entitled Homage to the Scream, and is created from reclaimed corrugated cardboard and offers details much like the original 'Scream' piece by artist Edvard Munch. Each piece created by Langan is made entirely of glue and corrugated boxes, a true patron of eco friendly living.

A high end junk artist named Gabriel Dishaw offers pieces from back in the mid 90s, and all are made from pieces of metal as well as gears and wires in running shoes. One piece in particular named Frankenstein Terminator is fashioned after the Nike High Terminator shoe and comes with a shoebox, diagram and shoe tags with labels.

With all the junk art and trash art artists that compile the masses, it is hard to find one that you would like the best. Regardless of your stance on eco friendly art, the fact that these artists are making a large impact on the carbon footprint we all leave behind in our trash and items we discard without another thought. One man's junk is another man's treasure, and in this case the artists mentioned are able to take that junk and make something that all can enjoy. No matter our eco status, all can appreciate the joys of beautiful art and the painstaking ills that artists go through to make them come to life.

Discoloration is a tendency if the coats are not applied evenly and you'll find mismatched spots if you do not get someone who is experienced and skilled for these types of jobs. Such projects should be handled by people who have the tools and specialized tools to finish it the right way the first time.

Get the Latest Tech News From Technology Sites

When the society looks back on the past few decades and the infancy of the world wide web can be correctly defined, it will most likely be chronicled that the Internet is the greatest learning tool since the printing press. Even small African communities where basic electricity can at times be a scarcity, personal computers and the world wide web are changing the way people view the world. In addition to millions of pages devoted to news, politics, and other things, tech news are often a dominant subject matter on a medium run by the most recent technological discoveries. Here are just a few internet sites you can visit for the latest technology news.

The website cNet has been a frontrunner in technology for many years. Not only do they have a pile of news and stories devoted to technological innovation, but they also have a seemingly never-ending amount of product critiques. In addition they run the well-liked Download.com site which lets you download trials of computer software or freeware and shareware applications from around the globe. Ask just about any hardcore computer nerd about this site and they'll probably tell you that they've bookmarked and that they check-in with cNet at least once per day.

Following closely behind cNet is ZDnet. They have been around almost as long and have created a great track record of not only tech news but also having several of the finest opinion authors within the company, as well. Quite a few of the reports have comments enabled, which implies you may fire back at a columnist who is voicing a perspective that you believe is ridiculous. Keep in mind, just because a person has something printed online, it does not mean that person has any idea what they are talking about. Just bear in mind to remain civil and well-intentioned when making your point.

Some of the very best mainstream news outlets available also have excellent technology news divisions, as well. Web sites like the San Francisco Chronicle, CNN, MSNBC as well as the BBC all have webpages with tech sections which are updated several times every day.

Following in the footsteps of the major news agencies, the Internet giants are likewise trying to cover technology news. Sites like Google News and Yahoo News now have fulltime journalists on the beat and they regularly break stories that the other web sites miss. This is a case of businesses producing so much cash and having only little idea of exactly what to do with it, so they start their very own media service.

Forex Secret – Moving Rates As The Basic Indicator At Forex

The given chapter is dedicated to the problem of Moving Averages (MA). It is one of the principal indices at Forex. In their book "Computer analysis of future markets", Ch. Lebo and D. Douglas state that the greatest sums of real money are earned by making use exactly of the MA index. Even taken together, all other technical standards are less helpful. This is true. However, Ch. Lebo and D. Douglas have not mentioned that 19 of 20 traders do lose their game when they mainly use this index (MA).

Here I try to expose the origin of such a high rate of losses and losers (19 of 20 traders!). The losses are caused by a somewhat simplified approach to the utilization of this so important technical index by "classicists" of Forex. The analogous view on MA index is inherent in the up-to-date analyzes as well. Further, traders do the same. However, for the latter misunderstanding of the analytical approach to MA results in losses of real money at Forex.

Take a look at the charts submitted by J. Murphy in his book "The technical analysis of future markets" (Part 9). There plots are keep on "migrating" (roaming) from one manual of Forex to another.

Chart 14.1. There is an example of combination of the 10-days simple MA (SMA) with the 40-days one. The reader should pay attention how accurately the tension in price movement is delayed by the short 10-days MA. The 40-days MA is behind the price movement somewhat farther. MA value evens up (levels) the spread of prices. At the same time, these MA are always keep on being behind the market dynamics in time. The 10-days MA is designated as the solid line; the 40-days MA is presented in the form of the dotted line. (For view picture see notes in end of article)

Chart14.2. There is an example of the 20-days simple MA. Traders regard intersections of MA curves by prices as signals for opening the corresponding positions. In the period that corresponds to the chart right border, the price indices are below the MA curve. This indicates that the market is at the stage in decline. One should pay attention to the following fact. The 20-days MA curve evens up the price dynamics. All the same, this 20-days MA curve is keeping behind the market dynamics in time.

(For view picture see notes in end of article)

According to these pictures, everything is clear – is not it? That is, at a certain point one must stick on "sell", at another point one must stick on "buy", etc. Probably, looking at this chart, any beginner could think that his account would be doubled after several days of the work at Forex. However, in fact, just 1 of 20 traders does earn his money. At the same time, all traders (19 losers included) make use of MA index in this or that form during their work at Forex.

Here, one must get to learn how to make use of MA in order to gain profit but not to sustain damages.

First, let us examine the problems relating MA. One must understand the reasons why the majority of traders lose their money when using MA. After this, one must find the way-out.

The problem # 1. Which charts the classicists of Forex do not include into their manuals.

Let us scrutinize the graphs given below. After this, you can clearly understand why 19 of 20 traders leave Forex for good.

Chart 14.3. From March 24 till April 16, 2006, in EUR / USD pair movement the 10th and 40th MA intersected one another 11 times. (For view picture see notes in end of article)

Chart 14.4. From January 13 till February 3, 2006, in USD / JPY pair move the 10th and 40th MA have 12 times intersected one another. (For view picture see notes in end of article)

Chart 14.5. From February 16 till April 16 of 2006, in GBP / USD pair movement 10th and 40th MA have 13 times intersected one another. (For view picture see notes in end of article)

Chart 14.6. From March 14 till April 7 of 2006, in GBP / USD pair movement 10th and 40th MA have intersected one another 9 times. (For view picture see notes in end of article)

    The concluding are the following.

Here we deal with a flat. In contrast to the trend, in a flat MA do not "obey" the rules submitted in the classic manuals. Rather on the contrary, when a faster MA intersects a slower one, it can be a sign of an imminent reversal. Respectively, a deal must be open in the direction opposite to the MA opening. Such a situation is typical of a trend within the time frame …

    How To Paint Like Rembrandt

Rembrandt van Rijn was born in Leydn, and later moved to Amsterdam to study in the studio of Peter Lastman. Lastman, who had traveled to Italy and was familiar with the works of Carravagio, probably instilled a love of chiaroscuro in the young Rembrandt. Rembrandt's early paintings, however, were done in the Dutch seventeenth-century style, consisting of thin layers.

With age came the development of Rembrandt's signature style. His use of impasto in the light areas great heavier and heavier, while his shadows became increasingly transparent. His series of self-portraits document the evolution of his technique, offering an invaluable glimpse at the growth of a true 'Master'.

    Painting Medium

Rembrandt's medium looks to have been a very thick jelly that became tacky reliably quickly, judging from the light areas in his paintings. It's clear that the paint was put down and then moved around with great difficulty, producing his distinct brush-strokes. The shadows, transparent with dark tints of color, are equally thick, the brush-strokes standing in high relief. There is some question as to Rembrandt's talent for drawing, as he sees to have been correcting his drawings after the paint had already begun to resist the commands of his brush.

    Painting Surface

Despite the existence of some alla prima sketches on panels, Rembrandt's preferred surface was a gray-toned canvas. The canvas is better suited for paintings carried out over several sittings, and the majority of Rembrandt's works were executed in this manner.

    Painting Sequence

As mentioned earlier, Rembrandt did not have the gift for drawing possessed by many of his contemporaries, most notably Rubens. When painting from life, which he usually did, he needed several sentences to get the drawing up to his exacting standards. With warm brown tones of oil paint and medium, he would sketch the portrait on the canvas, blocking in the transparent shadows with the thin mix. Then, loading his brush with an opaque, muted skin tone, he painted into the light areas and modeled them with the shadows, creating strong contrasts between the two.

Next, mixing black and white, Rembrandt created a cool gray for the mid-tones between the lights and shadows. He also used an optical gray, allowing the toned canvas to show through rather than painting in gray tones. Unfortunately, the grays in Rembrandt's paintings often appear green today, due to the yellowing varnish.

Rembrandt then worked feverishly against time and drying paint, building up the contrast between his heavy, opaque lights and his much thinner transparent shadows, as well as that of his warm and cool tones. Only when the paint became tacky and hard to move would he start the process of blending, creating the remarkable texture unique to Rembrandt's style of painting. Finally, when the paint could no longer be moved, he stopped painting and allowed the canvas to dry.

The second sitting consist of glazing the entire surface of the canvas with medium and a tint of umber, or possibly black, which he would then carefully remove from the light areas using a cloth. The heavy impasto of the light areas retained some of the glaze, creating an even more three-dimensional appearance. This process was repeated over several sittings, resulting in the brilliant lights and darks that Rembrandt is so famously known for.

    Five Bizarre Motives for Murder

As a mystery writer, I am always thinking of bizarre motives for murder. There are a lot motives to kill people. Some are acceptable; say, self-defense. Others, like war, are debated. And then there are those that are just strange, bizarre, bordering on being excessively… weird. Why?

Reading the news is proof enough that we are not as sane as we think we are. There are daily stories about escalating problems, violent actions, overreactions, and just plain shit hitting the fan… for the cops to clean up.

Here are a few examples of bizarre motives for murder:

    1. Serial Killers

Hannibal, Jack the Ripper, and other psychopaths come to mind. These guys are systematic with their operation; basically everyday men, or women, who have grown a rather dangerous fascination with murder; and they carry it out rather excellently.

The characteristics of the victims they target may range from age to hair color, or anything in between. Even among murderers and convicts, they are the ‘weird guys’ (I mean, the weird guys among the weird guys).

They sometimes leave clues behind to experience a ‘thrill of the chase’ which makes for interesting TV shows, books, and movies. In the meantime, we unknowing citizens go about our daily life with that serial killer who could be our mailman, driver, handyman, or neighbor. Thankfully, we’re not his type. Pretty bizarre.

    1. Gang Related

When you think about it, this is one of the stupidest and strangest motives to murder someone. Most times it boils down to vengeance or taking back what has been taken; power tussles and basically alpha male rumbles. Many gang related murders occur because someone lives on the wrong side of town.

Wait; I mean, the reason they kill is because you live on the 14th and the other guy lives on the 88th. Well, if that isn’t motive enough to ‘pop a cap in their ass’, I don’t know what is.

So many adolescents and teens have been caught in this form of senseless violence that they nicknamed it Chiraq, a mixture of Chicago and Iraq.

    1. “He Looked At Me the Wrong Way”

This deals with alpha males who have a problem with their masculinity, or femininity, as the case may be; chilling with a beer in their hands, looking around for someone to incite them in any way, violence seekers with an apparent hunger for altercations.

Almost always in tip top shape and ready to give death away… for free, I might add.

    1. Rituals

Yes, deadly rituals exist. Sigh. When we think of fatal rituals we think of Jonestown, where Preacher Jim Jones urged 600 of his followers to drink arsenic and kill themselves.

This sort of mass suicide quasi ritual went down in America’s history of mass death as a black mark on the free world; the grave was, indeed, a huge mass of waste.

    1. Protest

Protests fall somewhere between stupid and brave. A couple of years ago, an Egyptian went for a job interview and failed to get it. He used his last change to buy petrol, wrote a suicide letter, and doused himself on fire.

This bizarre and strange act led to a countrywide protest which caused the President to step down and an effective revolution to take place. In cases like this, murder or suicide as the case may be, isn’t just murder. It becomes an instrument for great change.

So there you have it; five bizarre motives for murder. Strange, yes?

Top Benefits of Visual Effects Schools

What are visual effects? According to a definition these are "Alterations to a film's images during post-production." The visual effects are basically a sub-category of special effects in which images are manipulated for an enhanced effect for films or video. It includes amalgamation of live action recording and CGI so as to produce an ambiance which looks real. This effect may be very dangerous or expensive or simply too difficult to capture on real time basis. The demand for enhanced effects has increased manifold, especially with the films that are made with huge budgets. Since a lot of money is at stake, film-makers are seeking professionals who are experienced in this field and can generate mind-blowing visual effects, which are uncommon yet interesting and will keep the public glued to the screen.

This theory, in turn justifies a great demand for schools which can train and offer courses to individuals. The visual effects schools offer a variety of media training programs like animation, audio recording, broadcasting, digital film and video production etc. One of the best schools across the globe, in this area is Austin Visual Effects Schools. Austin is the state capital of Texas and also the fourth largest city. It is home to some of the finest fashion design and photography schools as well as art colleges, which offer comprehensive courses with the help of modern software. The courses are more than a simple practical training with software.

Some of the photography colleges are:

o The Art Institute: It offers a program in commercial photography, digital photography, photography, photography and design and visual arts. It offers Bachelor's as well as Diploma in this field.

o Westwood College: It offers a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication.

o The University of Texas at Austin: The Department of Radio and Television Film (or RTF) proffers some fantastic summer media camps for the young in 7th through 12th grades. These camps are held in the campus of the University and the campers can use the equipment provided by the RTF. The students get an opportunity to look at various aspects involved in film making. Generally a camp lasts for 5 days and the fee per session is $ 475.

Visual effects can be divided into 4 broad categories:

    1. Models, in which miniature sets are used

    2. Digital and / or traditional paintings: These are required to cater to the background elements

    3. Live action: Here the main characters perform. The performances are keyed through the blue-screen or green-screen.

    4. Digital animation: This involves computer graphics, texturing, animation, generating 3D characters etc.

These Schools also offer Graphic Designing courses which include studying design, animated typography, creating logos, Photoshop image manipulation and web sites etc., along with a hands-on training of the software that is used in the industry.

Once you graduate from these Schools, you can obtain employment in the entry level positions of advertising designers, computer artists, Video Editing, Motion Graphics, and Visual Effects Supervisor etc.

    Commercial Painting Overview

Commercial painting is an important part of any facilities maintenance plan. It helps keep a building looking fresh and inviting while protecting the structure from damage, with minimal expense.

A commercial painter can offer the following services:

    • All Phases of Prep Work
    • Interior Painting – including walls, window casings, base moldings, ceilings, doors and door trim, cabinets, wainscoting, chair rails, and even floors.
    • Exterior Painting – using commercial grade paint.
    • Preserving
    • Sealing
    • Caulking
    • Clean Up Work

Benefits of Hiring a Commercial Painter

Although most facilities staff could probably paint a room or two in a pinch, for a professional and lasting finish, it's best to leave the painting up to the professionals. Here are some benefits to hiring a commercial painter:

    • A professional painter knows how to prep the surface before painting.
    • Commercial painters know what paints to use for what surfaces – and what brushes!
    • Hiring a commercial painter saves you and your staff time and energy.
    • They use low odor (low VOC) paints to allow normal business operations to continue without interruption.
    • Practice does make perfect! Commercial painters have many, many hours of painting experience under their belts. Their lines are straight, they can even apply coats and their work is lasting.

How to Hire a Painting Contractor

    • Ask for referrals. Talk to other facilities managers about whom they use for their commercial painting needs.
    • Do your research! If you're hiring someone off the internet, once you narrow your selection, ask your contractor for referrals. A qualified painting contractor will have many to share!
    • The cheapest bid is not always the best price. Keep this in mind – what looks like the best bid ends up costing more in both time and money, not to mention stress and frustration.
    • Are they state licensed? In the state of Florida, it's best to make sure your commercial painter is more than a handyman. You want a state licensed contractor. If your handyman does any damage to your facility, you will not have any recourse.

How You Can Help Your Painting Contractor

Although some commercial painting contractors will do all the prep work, there are some things you can do to make their job easier, less time-consuming, and less expensive. For example:

    • Take everything out. Clear away furniture, throw rugs, lamps, and any other knickknacks that can be easily moved – or accidentally damaged. Bigger pieces of furniture can usually be left in a room, moved to the center and covered.
    • Dust base boards, door jambs, sweep floors and remove any bulk debris.
    • Remove doors, light fixtures, and outlet covers.

    How to Hire Corporate Entertainment

For many people, hiring entertainment for a corporate event can be an overwhelming task. The entertainment you select has to be professional and suited for all audiences. On the other hand, it is easy to get stuck in the corporate rut of doing “the same old thing” year after year.

How important is keeping your existing clients and employees for your organization? Showing appreciation to clients and your staff can boost morale, strengthen business relationships and help your company grow. Having the right entertainment at your event will accomplish that!

So how do you break from the ordinary and book entertainment that is new and engaging for your group? Below are some suggestions to make the hiring process easier for you.

    1. Plan Your Event

Plan how would like the evening to go. If you know the exact type of entertainment you are having, then plan the event around that entertainment. Otherwise, plan out time for the different events and make a time-table. If you haven’t decided on the entertainment then be sure to leave some room in your time-table for adjustments. The setup of the room can vary depending on the performer you desire, and the itinerary can change as well.

    2. Know Your Budget

Know how much you can spend on entertainment before approaching entertainers to find out about their acts. What you can spend on an entertainer will often dictate the level of entertainment you get. Every event has a budget and you need to stay within it and meet your needs. However, hiring an entertainer based solely on them being the lowest priced can lead to disaster. Put things in a better perspective, you may wish to determine your “per-person” cost budgeted for entertainment or activities. The finest food and beverages will soon be a fading memory to your guests, but high quality entertainment creates an emotional impact and lasting impression. How much fun they had at your event is what creates lasting memories.

    3. Be Prepared to Discuss Your Event and Your Budget

Any professional entertainer is going to be asking you questions about your event, such as what type of event you are having, how many guests you expect, if there is a theme to the event, a general timeline of the event, etc. By doing this, they are determining if their act is a good match for your group and function. They may even be able to present ideas to enhance your event that you hadn’t thought of yet! Ask the entertainer if they offer any special packages. Your entertainer may have a package that will make your event extra special. By discussing your budget with them, you are also finding out if they are within your price range. If so you can move on with the process; if not, you are saving everyone time and should call the next entertainer on your list.

    4. Request References and Promotional Material

If after your initial contact with the entertainer you feel comfortable with them and you both agree that there is a possibility that they will be a good match for your group, ask them for references and promotional materials. You will find that most entertainers have websites that will contain most of the promotional materials, if not all of it. If an entertainer cannot provide you with references then DO NOT engage this performer.

    5. Call References and Review the Promotional Material

After calling references and reviewing the promotional material, you may have more questions for the entertainer. Give them a call and get your concerns addressed and all questions answered.

Make sure that your entertainer is a corporate entertainment specialist that knows the needs and expectations of the corporate environment. A comedian that regularly performs “R” rated shows in comedy clubs or a magician that typically works at child birthday parties would probably not make a suitable choices for a typical corporate conference!

    6. Ask About a Guarantee

Want some real peace of mind when trying to plan your corporate event? If an entertainer presents a quality presentation and has enough experience, they should be willing to guarantee their services. As them what they guarantee!

    7. Request a Contract

The entertainer should provide you with a contract outlining your agreement along with the date, location of your event as well as any other arrangements agreed upon. Unless you are booking a celebrity performer, the agreement will probably be no more than a couple of pages in length.

The contract should clearly state what you will be required to provide for the event, such as a sound system or lighting requirements, and what the entertainer will be providing. In some cases some of this information will come in the form of a Technical Rider which is sent with the contract. The agreement should …
