Holding a Wedding Sand Ceremony.
Marriage ceremonies using sand are also knowns wedding unity sand and are meant to foster unity and love among the wedding couples. The wedding sand ceremonies are widely known and used during wedding rather than the traditional forms of marriages which used lighted candles. Tapered and lighted candles are used in the traditional marriages to symbolize the start of unity between the new couples. The use of unity sand is similar to the lighting of the candle as both are symbols of unity in a marriage occasion. However, they differ in the replacement of the sand with the candle. Sand is very famous in the marriages as it is readily available and does not face the problems which may be encountered by lit candles. During the marriage ceremony, the lit candle can be blown off by wind hence disrupting the proceedings of the occasion. Candles may not be reliable where outside events are conducted. The sand is poured by the bride and groom to symbolized their unity and love.
The unity set can become a decorative memorable centerpiece after the wedding. It may display the most cherished days in the life of the bride and the groom. There is a large glass vase which contains two small style tubes. The mothers of the couples have the responsibility of filling the two small glass vases with sand. They then set down the large glass vase. Two of the colored sand are the d?cor of the wedding with the remaining one being white to represent the unity and peace of the ceremony. The large vase is poured with the white sand by the officiant. The white sand is poured to signify the start of a new relationship.
The male couple starts to pour the colored sand into the main vessel. The bride will pour the colored sand to the main glass vase after the groom. The couple will then pour the sand simultaneously, in small bits creating layers of sand. They will then pour simultaneously when they get closer to the end of their sand in order to balance the layers. The remaining sand will symbolize the completion of the wedding ceremony. When the colors blend, an image of the unity is portrayed. The stopper of the large glass vase is used to cover it after the ceremony is complete. The officiant is then required to bless the ceremony by giving a customized verse.
Sandy beaches are the best places to hold these unity sand ceremonies. Sand acts as a symbol of unity during marriages.
