I found this work by Lama Govinda this morning and wanted to share it. Lama was born in 1898 in Germany and founded the Pali Tibetan Buddhist order. He spent his life teaching and lecturing in India, and in the 1960’s he began traveling around the world teaching Buddhism.
In his work about mountains I am reminded of the beauty of mountains; not only that but I can begin to understand myself a little better. Just like the mountain I am creating my world with my thoughts. Just like the mountain, I am a whole part of a vast system that supplies energy in the form of love to my world and everything in it. The mountain is filled with consciousness and continues to grow and expand just like I do. We are connected in the web of All There Is and the mountain is expressing itself to me in order for me to become aware of unlimited energy I have within me. People in all countries flock to mountains for the peace and serenity they offer; some people climb mountains in order to stand on top and look down; looking down from the top certainly brings another reality into focus. Some people wander through mountains searching for something and find it. Some people are afraid of mountains and avoid them, just like I avoid feeling the love I have within me.
It doesn’t matter how I perceive mountains and what metaphor if any they seem to represent, Govinda’s work makes me think and relate to mountains in a unique and gratuitous way. I am able to focus on the beauty of nature and find peace within myself knowing I am what the mountain is, an expression of my source growing and expanding into a grander version of myself.
“To see the greatness of a mountain, one must keep one’s distance.
To understand its form, one must move around it.
To experience its moods, one must see it at sunrise and sunset,
At noon and at midnight, in sun and in rain,
In snow and in storm, in summer and in winter,
And in all other seasons.
He who can see the mountain like this comes near to the life of the mountain.
Mountains grow and decay, they breathe and pulsate with life.
They attract and collect invisible energies from their surroundings.
The forces of the air, of the water, of electricity and magnetism.
They create winds, clouds, thunderstorms, rains, waterfalls and rivers.
They fill their surroundings with active life and give shelter and food to innumerable beings.
Such is the greatness of the mighty mountains.”

Producers come in a lot of different flavors. If you are a fan of anybody in the producer’s seat you will find out very early that the super producers are the ones that tend to work for everyone. They have opportunities to work with a number of different artists because they have such a strong presence in the industry. They may have the ability to cross over and work with rappers just as well as they work with R&B, Pop and Alternative Rock artists. This is the sign of the super producer. They are the ones that have a platform that expands beyond a single genre of music.
The Music Producer with A Sound That Becomes A Fade
There are other producers that sounds that fade. They may have the flavor of the month when it comes to production, but it may be hard for them to keep up with the change of the different types of music platforms. And they get box in, and this gets them in a place where they are pigeonhole. They have a sound that is only connected to a certain time frame, and after that time frame is up, they find themselves struggling to have any success in music production. This seems tragic for the music producer, but there is a lesson that you can learn from these type of producers. You learn early that you cannot lock yourself into a single sound and expect to have longevity.
The Underground Producer That Gains Mainstream Success
A producer that tends to stand out more is one that starts as an underground producer and rises to the ranks of a mainstream production engineer. Some of these producers will even take the stage as singers or rappers. This is quite common for people that also have songwriting skills. Music producers that play instruments and also write songs are a double threat. If they can write music, write songs and sing or rap to become a triple threat. You can learn from these producers as well. You realize that they have longevity comes with producing decades of songs that never seem to die out because these producers have been able to adapt to the times. They can transition and make music that will go down as classics.
The Swinging Door That Opens for The New Producers
With all of this said, there is still room for producers that are new to the industry. You can start out with producer loops and get a sound it is different from anything else that is out there. It is all about creating something that is new and exciting. When the door swings open for new producers to come into that environment you need to be ready with your arsenal of beats that can set you apart from everyone else. When you are able to get a spotlight on your music production you need to make sure that you have a tight sound it is well packaged and ready to be utilized by artists are in the industry already.…
Artists love using oil paints on canvas because of its many advantages. Whereas its slow drying process could seem as a drawback, especially for those who would rather finish their pieces faster, for the majority of artists is a plus. This is because it provides them with sufficient time to work on an artwork piece in different sessions without worrying that some parts will dry faster. They also find it much easier to make changes to their creations thanks to the slow drying characteristic of oil paintings. Oil paints also come with an advantage of creating luminous colors that are hard to wear. It is also much easier for the paintings to blend with any surrounding colors so in the end an appealing artwork is achieved.
If you are new to oil paintings, you might consider taking oil painting classes so you can start off on a high. But you can still use the following simple tips to start getting familiar with the painting and ensure that every one of your artwork pieces oozes life.
Tip 1 – Use thick paste on foreground to convey volume
Three dimensional looks are quite lifelike and it is actually possible to achieve this when painting with oil. Oils and acrylics come with the advantage of building thick impastos compared to pastels and watercolors that lack the quality. To achieve the 3D look, apply the thick oil paste on the foreground of your painting and then thin it with receding planes on your piece. In the end you will have a very thing paint layer in the distant background creating the three dimensional illusion.
Tip 2 – Create texture on your piece by dry brushing
Texture is very important, especially on pieces with leaves, grass and crashing water waves and the likes. By using a dry brush technique you can make sure the texture is visible to the eyes. Dry brushing means skipping your brush so that the paint can peel off achieving the desired results. When you hold the brush horizontally and graze it you can tickle bottom surfaces dragging to different directions to create weathered appearance of your wood or make the water foam on the painting look bubbly. There are so many effects you can create with the method so your painting is lifelike.
Tip 3 – Create interest by varying your colors
Instead of adding a number of variations of the same hue in a given area to get rid of boring solid monochromatic colors, generate more interest on your oil painting by mixing colors partially on the palette to neutralize saturation and they squeeze paint out under lots of pressure so you can see minority color variations with every stroke. It may seem challenging at first, but you will love how realistic the painting becomes once you master the technique. This color mixing variegation can be used on different types of oil painting including those with grass, rocks and foliage to get paint variety that makes them look real.
There are various genres and subgenres of "zombie" movies. Some movies and TV series fall into categories such as comedy or romance. Creative writers have no limits to what they can envision. When we think of "zombie" movies, we typically envision violence as well as ugly monsters, but not all zombie movies fall into this classification. There are a few movies (and series) that are not quite as scary but which are worthwhile to be mentioned. In "The Returned" (2015), directed by Getzinger, Campillo, et al., The town's people do not know what to do when local people presumed dead return to their families. This show asks what it would be like if long-lost people had to re-insert themselves in society. Another remarkable series along the same lines is Australia's "Glitch" (2015), directed by Freeman and Krawitz, a story about a policeman who discovers that six people who look perfectly normal just risen from the local graveyard, one of what happens to be his long-lost wife. The zombies in "Glitch" are quite likable, giving viewers the opportunity to feel empathy for them. In the French movie "They Came Back" (2004), directed by Campillo, thousands of people return from the dead in hopes of reintegrating themselves into French society, only to find out that it would not be so easy. For anyone who prefers a captivating zombie story-line with likable characters, I would suggest these three shows in which good often triumphs over bad.
Movies have been traditionally known to help viewers find enjoyment and relaxation at the end of the day. Horror films seem quite the opposite, even psychologically disturbing. Moreover, zombie movies are usually grotesque, so it makes sense that people would be concerned about their friends who are admittedly addicted to zombie series. Perhaps viewers are more interested in the tribal team experience shared by a multicultural cast than they are interested in the horror. No doubt, people prefer to experience the victory of the good guys who strive to save their friends and family.
Adult viewers experience a metaphorical movie-world that replicates global uncertainty. Countless zombies that approach actors in movies often symbolize individual problems to be resolved through strategic planning, depending on the situation at hand. Given that a real world of zombies would be impossible, viewers remain cognizant that a film travels into the powers of imagination that never meet real life.
One common thread shared by all of these zombie movies is the cast of fictional protagonists who form their own teams with friends and others that meet along the way in order to survive. The cast gets linked together through encounters with scores of mindless zombies. At times, individual characters discover that they have to reluctantly befriend their former enemies in order to survive together.
The family theme is often represented in zombie series like "Fear of the Walking Dead" (2015), directed by Schwartz, Bernstein, et al. In this American series set in California and Mexico, two families work together to survive an apocalypse. What it means to be a family is an important theme in this unique twist on the zombie theme.
Multicultural teams throughout zombie films must welcome new team members of diverse origins since they all share the same goals. It is only by being a real team that supports diverse members that a group can expect. Fortunately, these protagonists find that they share common threads, that they would never have imagined before they encountered their challenges. Being a multi-ethnic team that works together regardless of differences is an honorable and ethical planet depicted time and time again by Hollywood in movies of all genres.
The protagonists of zombie movies generally try to do good toward their fellow humans. They fight to save their friends, family, and any human they encounter along their journeys, even if they find needy people along the highway. Courageous heroes and heroines even give their lives to help their fellow humans. On the other hand, when someone becomes infected with the zombie-virus, the protagonists are forced to do what they must to tie the victim. No matter how bad the situation gets, these protagonists never give up. More importantly, the protagonists of zombie movies realize how precious life is, that each and every day could be their last day as a character in the film. The main characters discover that it is their duty to appreciate life, as it was even before the tragic appearance of the living dead who multiply all around their fictive barricades. At times, a character leaves the series purely because he or she becomes ready to move on to another series or movie (sometimes, a better opportunity) in another film.
Scary books and movies have been popular since the time Edgar Allan Poe wrote his psychological thrillers in eloquent rhythm. …
There is no precise formula to success other than working smart, being consistent and accepting life and what it has to bring. Everyone has at a point gone through stuff that made them reach where they are now. This happens to be the greatest thing about being successful in your career, and this includes being an artist. Art is all about coming up with an idea and making a unique piece from what your mind conceives.
Successful artists such as Jeppe Hein have toiled to get where they are today. What are some of the traits that define successful artists? Here is a glance at some of the main characteristics.
Art has become a big part of their lives
What comes in your mind first and last when you wake up and when going to sleep. This is how you know the worth and importance of something. With the artists, they wake up and go to sleep with arts in their mind. They spend most of their time making or marketing art. If they were to choose a job, they would with no doubt go for art as their full-time job. Art is everything to them and has become a part of their living.
They are creative
As said earlier, being an artist mostly entails coming up with original and unique ideas. This will help make your work more exciting and engaging. If you want to be successful and outstanding, ensure that you are ready to make use of the creative side of you. Be prepared to think and think hard. You do not want to end up being a copycat and mimicking other people’s ideas.
They are enthusiastic
A successful and great performer of art is always enthusiastic towards his/her arts. They firmly believe in themselves and have great support towards their peers and the whole art industry. And they love what they do, they are passionate and they eager to see what they can offer as the end results.
They are contextual
Great artists understand where they belong in the history of art. They have ideas on what and who was there before them. Whenever they are unsure of something, they always have a source to help and steer them in the right direction.
They are persistent
This is a trait that allows you to keep pushing even when you feel like you have hit the end rock. It helps you to stand up after several failures. This highly applies in being an artist because nobody is born a master. It is a matter of learning and in the process; you are likely to make mistakes. You can only succeed if you do not let those mistakes block your way to success. Artists need the persistence to help them improve their skills, come up with excellent bodywork, learn new skills and sustain their career. If you lack persistence, your dreams may never come true.
Artistic life can be fun, but it requires discipline and determination if you want to make it. Ensure to practice these traits on top of your art techniques, and you can rest assured that you will build your art empire.…

All one needs to learn about Royalty Free Music usage.
The Internet marketers are increasingly opting for using royalty free music as a part of trade promotion. This is more advantageous than using paid sound clips and music. It can be re-used without facing any legal hassle. Obtaining royalty free music is not too difficult either. Students who need unique sound clips for using in their school or college projects can also use these sound clips.
This is alternatively known as buyout music. This can be licensed in return of a single payment. However some companies have put a restriction on the number of times a royalty free music clip can be used. This is subject to license agreement. Still, it is way better than cost copyright protected music.
As a matter of fact, Royalty Free music comes with the assurance of legality. You can use it for business promotions without violating law. Finding royalty free music is not hard as there are a number of search engines. Some sites that sell royalty free music lets users preview clips before download or purchase.
Various types of royalty free sound clips are available in the web. Different companies deal with different kind of products and they need to select sound clips accordingly. One can find everything from animal sounds to nature sounds in the web.
One can also use the royalty free music in his blog sites, social networking profiles and websites other than commercial use. As a purchaser of this music and sound clips, a person enjoys the right to modify and edit the sound clips. This is the opposite of copyrighted audio tracks. Even when a person pays for buying a copyrighted audio clip he is not allowed to make copies and edit it as per his desire in the most cases.
There are a number of web sites that offer a lot of royalty free soundtracks for people. A person can search using the popular search engines and can compare these sites before zeroing in on a particular one. It would be a nice idea to ask one's friends and colleagues for finding an ideal royalty free music download site.
If a person is looking for high quality royalty free music and needs a site that offers the widest range, then he can count on the services of the company "NEO Sounds". It contains music from professional producers and composers around the world. One can use music that he purchases from this site for as many times as he wants. If one has lost his purchased content due to some reason, he is eligible to re-download the same stuff. The music clips sold at this site start from as low as $ 7.95. The buying cost covers usage and licensing fees. Its content is updated on a regular basis and since users will get fresh content. In my view, the company offers the buyers best value for their money.
Download unlimited music is a dream come true for many music lovers. If you happen to be one of the millions who prefer to fill your MP3 player with only your favorites and not want to buy the whole album, then signing up for music subscription service is the right choice for you. There are practically hundreds of services you can subscribe to that offer you millions of song choices. It is so convenient to download unlimited music onto your computer or MP3 player.
It was only a few years back that legal online music became available to use. Many people are aware of sites like iTunes and Amazon, but it is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many other music stores where you can download unlimited music easily. These are direct distribution channels of music record companies or have obtained the permission and rights from the music companies to sell music through their websites. Just to quote a few examples, there is Bleep which shares music from Warp records, offering a wide range of electronic and indie music. Connect, which is Sony's in house pay-per-track music service carries music from all major record labels. EMusic is a global music subscription service where you can download up to 40 songs per month at a price of $ 9.99 per month.
Now, these are just some of the many choices you have to download unlimited music. It's hard to decide which one is the best, but there are handles or things you can consider before you choose a music download site.
Expensive does not equate to good. Some sites charge lower fees for per track or subscription service because they have much lower overhead and advertising costs than the more famous sites. This gives them a competitive edge over the big boys in the music industry.
2. Music Quality
Is the music quality good? You will be surprised that there can be some slight differences in song quality downloaded at various sites. There is a lot of science that goes into this such as the compression format and bit rates. Check out samples offered by these sites to hear and differentiate.
3. Music Format
You need to check the format of music offered for compatibility with your PC or MP3 player. MP3, OGG, AAC, WMA, ATRAC are some of the more common formats. I have to caution you here because not all formats are playable on your PC music client application or MP3 player. Take for instance; ATRAC3 can only be played on Sony's Connect players. There is no point to download unlimited music if you can not even listen to them.
4. Read the Reviews
Do a quick search online and read the reviews of each site where you can download unlimited music.
Visit my blog and find out more about where you can download unlimited music. This article may be freely reprinted or distributed in its entity in any ezine, newsletter, blog or website. The author's name, bio and website links must remain intact and be included with every reproduction.
How To Make Money Online
Making money online is NOT EASY at all. But it’s NOT THAT DIFFICULT too, if you are following a proper path. Without these following three things making money online will always remain a dream for you:-
- Hard work
If you think you have got the above mentioned three things, then let’s jump right into the topic.
Below are some of the most authentic and legit ways to make money online
What is Freelancing?
If you are into making money online, you must have heard the term Freelancing. But what does it really mean? Freelancing means working on a contract basis rather than on a regular basis for a company or organization and getting paid for hour of work, days of work or per project.
Now a day You-tube is booming like anything. More and more people are coming to YouTube to find a solution to their problem, to learn something new and to entertain themselves. With this increasing popularity YouTube is also becoming a money making machine for content creators. Yes! In case you don’t know you can earn a decent amount of money by creating YouTube videos. Although YouTube videos don’t pay by themselves, you can make money by placing Google AdSense ads on your videos (of course there are other ways to make money on YouTube but for now we will stick to Google AdSense). Blogging basically means writing posts on any niches on the internet, which are updated frequently. You can write on different niches which include but not limited to personal journals, News, Technology, Health and Fitness, Gaming, Parenting or any other topic you are interested in.
These days almost every product is available online, whether it is as small as a needle or as big as a car, everything is available online. And people are inclining more and more towards buying products from online stores may be because of the easy accessibility of products and convenient home delivery system.
These online stores need to advertise their products in some way and affiliate marketing is one of the many ways they promote their products. So affiliate marketing is a form of advertisement in which the affiliate (in this case you) promotes the products from different online store in his/her blog or website through a unique link (generally referred as affiliate link). The affiliate gets a commission when someone buys a product through that link then (generally some percentage of the price of the purchased product).
Almost every big online store has an affiliate program which you can join to promote their products in your website and get a commission in return if someone buys from your affiliate link.
If you have talent as an artist, you will naturally want to get paid for what you love doing. One of the best ways to make this happen is to get commissioned for a celebrity painting. Someone agrees to give you a certain amount of money to make a type of painting for them. One of the most fun types of painting that you could make is that of celebrity art. This type of art form allows you to take world famous celebrities and make a work of art about them, showing some of their best, most glamorous sides. You could have a great deal of enjoyment in making one of these paintings.
Getting someone to know that you can make them a certain painting of a celebrity can be the tricky part, however. Suppose that you are particularly talented at making portraits of a certain celebrity. You know their face well and are specifically skulled at drawing them in a variety of poses. If you want to be commissioned to make celebrity art about this person, you will want to find someone or even the celebrity themsel who would be interested in buying one of your paintings. There are a few ways that you could get knowledge out there that you are interested in making these paintings for these particular celebrities.
You should certainly have a portrait of this celebrity already made which you can show people so they know what kind of an artist that you are. Most people will not commission any artists without knowing an idea of what they might be getting first. If you can show them a portrait of the celebrity that you want to paint, however, you might have a good chance of being the artist selected for the work. Finding people who would be interested in one of your portraits, however, might be the tricky part. You will want to target both people who collect celebrity art as well as people who have collections based around the particular celebrity.
If you take one of your portraits of that celebrity and post it on an auction website, you can get a number of people interested in the piece of celebrity art that you have made. If you can start people in a bidding war for this work of art, you automatically know a few people who would be interested in commissioning you for a piece of celebrity art. One of these people will naturally win the painting. The others do not needlessly have to be without the painting themselves, however. You could approach those people and offer your services to paint them another portrait of that celebrity for a certain fee.
Also, if you look for people on other websites who are interested in collecting memorabilia about a certain celebrity, you may be able to contact those people to see if they are interested in purchasing a custom made piece of celebrity art about that person. If you are a talented artist and you offer your services at a reasonable rate, your career as an artist will certainly flourish.
I must say that I really enjoy painting, although not quite up to Van Gogh standards yet. You do not require many tools – a good selection of paintbrushes, a paint container (kettle), a sponge or cloth, some cling film, a scraper, abrasive paper, maybe a blowtorch, and a stepladder. A ladder is handy for all sorts of jobs around the house, and I feel that a lightweight aluminum one is the best.
You should have a few brushes to hand, of different sizes for different jobs. A good varied selection would include a 12mm (0.5 in) for windows, skirtings etc; a 75mm (3in) for things like doors; a 100m (4in) or larger for the walls. You can also get long-handled ones for getting behind stuff such as radiators etc. Paint kettles are cheap, and come in metal or lightweight plastic. You can tie a string or a piece of wire across the top, and scrape off excess paint on it. This is also handy for resting your brush on when you take a break, after wrapping it (the brush) in cling film so that it will stop the paint from drying. I usually just hold the brush by the handle, but I've been told that it's better to hold the thumb behind the handle, with the fingers on the other side, on the metal band. Before starting, give the bristles a flick across your hand, so as to get rid of any loose hairs.
Remember that new plaster has to be left to dry thoroughly before applying painting. Always remove grease and dirt from surfaces before you begin. This is a must-do chore. I find that the best thing to use is sugar soap, which is made into a solution by mixing with water. This ensures that no salt deposits are left, which is the case with some detergents. If you have something like nicotine stains on a wall, it's a good idea to spray it with an aerosol stain-blocking substance. This will make sure that they do not appear again through newly applied paint. Use a cloth with white spirit to get rid of loose particles of dust. Clean out any gaps below skirtings with a blunt knife, watching out for any cables, and vacuum well afterwards. We all get runs in the paint, and those should be brushed out as soon as you notice them. Always try to paint from the top to the bottom, as this will avoid the problem of drips going on to drying paint. Make sure that you work to a wet edge – when you reload the brush with paint, blend your next stroke into the wet area. When working with a ladder, start on the right-hand side of the wall if you're right handed, and of course the opposite if you're left handed. This is so that the ladder will not be leaning against the fresh paint. I mentioned cling film earlier – you can place a piece of it (slightly larger than your container) over the paint and press it to the insides. This will form an airtight seal, and prevent a skin from forming on oil-based paints.
When I was a teenager, and rather green around the gills, I was the butt of jokes for a few days after buying paint which was totally unsuitable for the surface that was to be painted. So that the same kind of thing does not happen to you, here are some kinds of paintings for various jobs: –
Exterior woodwork – microporous, exterior gloss or satin
Interior woodwork – eggshell, interior gloss or satin
Newly plastered walls – matt emulsion
Hardwood window frames – stain conservative or varnish
Painted or papered walls – matt or silk emulsion
Radiators – radiator enamel
Fascias – exterior gloss paint
Roughcast – masonry paint
Make sure that you always clean brushes thoroughly immediately after use.
Drums have existed for a very long time. Some say they even date back to 6000 BC. It is no wonder then, that they have been used for a variety of situations and have evolved to create a wide range of different types. This being said, all drums, or 'membranophones' (the technical classification), consist of at least one drum-head or drum skin. This is stretched over a shell and beaten either by hand or instrument to produce its sound. Most commonly it is used as a musical instrument as a part of the percussion group, to be used in rituals or entertainment such as modern day's rock bands. Through the world, drums have been created from many materials, including wood, metal, plastic and even clay.
The material of the drum skin can also vary from place to place, culture to culture. The skins of assorted animals such as goats, sheep and antelopes can be used as well as synthetic materials.
It is not uncommon to see an arrangement of drums called a 'drum kit'. This allows the musician to use all of their limbs to produce numerous sounds and pitches.
There are a few simple classifications of drums which can be considered. Shape is undetected the most familiar, with the majority of drums falling into one of these forms:
* Cylindrical drums
* Barrel drums
* Conga drums
* Waisted drums
* Goblet drums
* Bowl drums
There is another classification dependent on which side the drum has its head. A drum can have two heads on either side of the body, or alternatively, one drum-head on the top of the body. There are drums which have been designed to be easy to carry around, such as those used in street parades, and drums which are immobile.
When we listen to music such as rock, the drums we are listening are inevitably part of the aforementioned drum kit – a selection of drums that are non-pitched and can be used together in harmony. The sounds and rhythms one can create with a drum kit are so diverse that a number of music genres can use them to create their preferred sound.
The bass drum is large and when played, creates a very low pitch. More specifically we are talking about the orchestral bass drum, the smaller 'kick' drum and the pitched bass drums. Orchestral drums are the larger of the three and are primarily used in orchestral concerts. The kick-drum is the largest drum in a drum-kit and is utilized with a foot pedal. The last one mentioned, the pitched bass drum, is a popular choice for marching parades and the drums corp.
The snare drum has plastic or calf skin drum heads stretched securely over a metal frame that is hollow. The top head is beaten with drumsticks that are wooden, and is known as the 'batter-head'. The snare-head, also called the bottom head, has wires of metal called snares that are stretched across it. When this drum is stuck on the head, the snares give off a sharp rattling sound, since they are vibrating on the snare head.
A tom-tom is a drum shaped like a cylinder that does not have a snare. It goes all the way back to the Native America and Asian cultures and was not added to the drum kit until sometimes in the early 20th century. It is now thought to be an essential component to the drum kit and can consist of up to three units of different size. One of those is mounted on three legs and sets to the left of the bass drum. The other two are usually hanging on either side side above the bass drum.
An electric drum is generated by electronic waveforms produced by a generator or sampler as opposed to acoustic vibrations.
In general, abstract art is any form of art that does not have anything to do with the physical things found in the world. Oftentimes, it is viewed as an abstraction of the intrinsic qualities of a physical object and turned into a visual art that does not represent any materialistic value. What the artist does is to take a common object and he either simplifies the object into its smallest possible form or exaggerates it.
The early roots of abstract art will be traced to the 20th century when people drew pictures on dirt. This was made more precalent by the impressionist movement in art which was later on called abstract impressionism.
Abstract impressionism is a predecessor to surrealism. Abstract impressionism borders o artistic output that is random and has no subject matter to begin with. These drawings, paintings, and sculptures are more of subconscious in origin, meaning they are not employed provided to be punished through conventional appreciation of what is beautiful. The three main branches or divisions of abstract art are Abstract Cubism, Abstract Neoplasticism, and Abstract Expressionism.
Abstract Cubism is mainly composed of not literal cubes but any geometric figure to depict what is in the mind of the artist. One aspect of cubism is to split objects in multiple parts and put them back ion a different form which you will never see in reality. It started in 1908 and attained its height in 1914. The most famous of this type of abstract art were Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque.
Abstract Neoplasticism, on the other hand, stems from a concept or principle that art should never be a copy or reproduction of real objects as we see them through our eyes. It is argued that art should be an expression of what is absolute in life and that these absolutes are either horizontal or vertical lines. The colors used should only be the primary colors and not complicated hues as mixed by contemporary artists or painters. This movement, the neoplasticism as a form of abstract art, occurred in 1910, two years after the birth of cubism. The two most famous painters of this type of abstract art are Piet Mondrian and Theo van Doesburg.
The third division, called Abstract Expressionism, is a reflection of the painter's or artist's personality through random and spontaneous painting. In general, there are two types of abstract expressionism: Action Painting and Color Field Painting. Action painting shows the texture of the paint and how the artist moves as he paints the masterpiece. The most famous action painter is John Pollock. On the other hand, a color field painter is much more concerned about the shapes he uses to come up with a masterpiece and the artist is very particular with the colors used in the painting. The name that comes to mind whenever color color painting is indicated is mark Rothko.
In summary, the thing that separates abstract art from other art forms is that it is not tangible and physical in nature. It is much more concerned about the depths of the human psychology and spirit and these works of art are painted in random behavior and spontaneity.
So you make your songs, you practice with your band, but how to sell music? Before even attempting to sell music, and wasting any time or money, you need to consider what’s going on at the moment in the world and how people are now consuming music. We have moved as a society, away from the television and other traditional media channels, toward the internet and we are forming tribes and groups online and consequently offline.
An entire generation has grown up thinking of music as something that you just search and download for free. You aren’t going to sell as many records as people used to back in the days before illegal downloading. But here’s the good news – there is a huge shift in people gathering together and sharing their interests. Previously there may not have been enough people in any one physical location for people to justify a community.
Now they can gather together from all over the world.
The implications of this are huge for the person wanting to sell music. We are in the “Experience Economy.” Modern technology is enabling people who are hungry for experiences and interactions, to find other like minded people to experience things with. More people are going to more concerts and events – and then, they are capturing those experiences and further sharing them to the masses via social networks, video sites etc…
“Ok, Ok, I get it – how do I make money? how to sell music?”
Lets clarify here – I am not talking about artists or bands that are at the stage where they already have millions of fans, I’m talking about getting started and building a following. I’m also not talking about manufactured pop music – that’s another topic entirely. You may have a “hit” song ready to go that could blow up everywhere, and that’s great – but ultimately you need to be seen to be coming from somewhere. After the hit has been and gone, you will either have to come up with another smash or you will do something that a group of people will be able to engage with.
Many bands and acts come from a certain niche tribe, they learn their craft by entertaining that community.
Sometimes they will make a song that blows them up out of that niche to the masses. Think about it though, when we see these types of bands in their videos, do they suddenly change to look like “pop” stars? No, they represent themselves. We get a sense of who they are and where they come from.
So if you want to sell music no matter what, you need to engage with your tribe and build a solid following – this will be your insurance policy if you have a hit!
The best way to begin to sell music is to engage with the tribes and their leaders in a way that makes them think that you are one of them, to be the soundtrack to their lives. Prior to this, the only way to really tap in to this kind of “tribe” (if there was an organized one at all) was to connect with various scattered zines, clubnights and alternative media shows.
Now our minds and tastes are connected internationally. You are going to engage with your tribe using modern technology. You are going to use video, audio and various one to many communication tools to spread your messages and media to begin to lead your tribe to your music.
I know it must seem strange that I haven’t once mentioned transactions yet! That’s because without tribes and engagement its going to be hard to sell anything. If you engage with your tribe or tribes so well, its going to be very hard to stop them from buying!
The process of being in a photo shoot is really fun but all the production behind it takes a lot of preparation. For example, as a photographer, you must consider the idea, the models, the equipment, and, of course, the studio you’re going to use. Choosing a photo venue can be an incredibly stressful job since there are a lot of crucial elements to be considered.
Referrals and Research
Good and bad recommendations are key. Referrals are the first step when looking for a photo studio. If you recently heard about a friend of yours doing a gig in a studio then ask him about it. Ask him about his personal opinion and what did he think about it.
Another option can be researching about the space yourself. There are websites such as Peerspace that let you know the opinion made by several photographers about a specific place. These professionals describe their experience and conclude by recommend or not recommend the space. Additionally, don’t forget to always recommend the spaces you like the best to your fellow photographer friends.
Size of the Space
Do you need a big space for your photoshoot? Do you need a smaller one? How many people are going to be helping you in your session? You must ask yourself this question since this determines the amount of square feet you’re going to need.
The size of the space is essential when deciding which photo studio, you’re going to rent. This is going to be determined by the idea of your photoshoot but also by the amount of money you have. It’s logical to think that the bigger the space the cost per hour is going to be higher.
This is an obvious step, but the most obvious things are invisible to our eyes (and schedules). Before renting a photo studio you must check it’s available for you. The factor of availability comes hand in hand with the type of photos you’re going to take.
So, once again, what type of space do you need? Do you need access to natural daylight or not? Are you taking a personal or a group photo? Remember to always ask yourself these questions. Ninety percent of a good shoot is pre-production right.
Cost per Hour
The cost of a photoshoot is very important, especially when it is measured in hours. Additionally, in many cases, the cost of a photo venue comes hand in hand with the quality of the space. In order to consider a specific studio, you must study your budget first.
The phrase: location, location, location is key in real estate and in the photography business. Yes, the location of your photo venue is important too. The location can determine the price of the space. Additionally, it can tell you if it’s a safe place for bringing your equipment, which is also a crucial characteristic to consider. If the location of the studio is far away from everybody then the logistic of movement has to be thought out way before the shoot.…
